Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans®

Anthology of Poetry, Inc. recognizes the best poems and short stories from the multitude of works submitted. Our first publication, Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans®, has been published annually since 1990. An entire generation of students has grown up with this anthology and several have been published more than once as they've grown in age and experience.

Submission requirements	All types of poetry are acceptable Poems must be legibly handwritten or typed One poem per poet The poet's full name, age and address must be included on the top right-hand corner of all pages
How to submit	By mail, using the guidelines printed here or through the Submit Your Poem button on this website. Students may submit work through their teacher or independently. Teachers, click here for a school submission form
Deadline for submissions	Submissions must be postmarked by October 31st of the calendar year. (Teachers, call if you need an extension.)
Criteria for selection	Age of the poet Originality Rhythmic sounds Rhymes Audience appeal Also considered are a writer's fresh approach to a simple subject and works that exhibit the author's involvement in the subject matter.
The selection process	Approximately 55% of the submissions are selected for publication.
Notes	All submissions become the property of the Anthology of Poetry, Inc.
Notification	Students should include a LOOSE first class postage stamp with their submission so that we can notify them if their work was selected for publication.

Shipping Date	Our anticipated shipping date is mid-April. Each book ordered is individually packaged, shipped by 3rd class mail and should arrive within 3 weeks.
