Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans®

In response to educators' requests, we expanded the scope of writing to include short stories, and launched the Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans® in 2002. Through this newer anthology we recognize student writers who have an interesting narrative to share.

Submission requirements	All styles of short stories are acceptable Short stories must be legibly handwritten or typed Only one short story per author Please limit the story to 1,500 words or fewer The author's full name, age and address must be included on the top right-hand corner of all pages
How to submit	By mail, using the guidelines printed here or through the Submit Your Short Story button on this website. Students may submit work through their teacher or independently. Teachers, click here for a school submission form
Deadline for submissions	April 15, 2012
Criteria for selection	Age of the writer Originality Character and plot development Audience appeal
The selection process	Approximately 55% of the submissions are selected for publication.
Notes	All submissions become the property of the Anthology of Poetry, Inc.
Notification	Students should include a LOOSE first class postage stamp with their submission so that we can notify them if their work was selected for publication.
Book Pricing	Softcover: $12.95/ Hardcover: $21.95 plus $3.00 for shipping and handling.
Shipping Date	Our anticipated shipping date is September 30. Each book ordered is individually packaged, shipped by 3rd class mail and should arrive within 3 weeks.
