The Teacher's Selection
Anthologies
The three Teacher's Selection Anthologies involve
5th, 8th and 11th grade students and their teachers in poetry writing
that can enhance their core curriculum. Teachers are the editors
for this publication. They select the three best poems from each
grade level to represent their school. After publication, the school
library receives a free copy of any Teacher's Selection anthology
in which their students' work appears.
Rules and Guidelines for each of the three publications are listed

of Fifth Grade Poetry

All 5th grade students

| How to submit
|
Only through your teacher |
| Deadline
for submissions |
- Teachers determine in-school deadlines.
- Teachers must submit their school's 3 poems by
March 15th of the school year. |
| Requirements |
- Poems must be submitted by a teacher
- All 3 submissions must be typed or in electronic
format
- One poem per poet
- The poet's full name, age and address must be
included on the top right-hand corner of all pages |
| Criteria
for selection |
- Originality
- Rythmic sounds
- Rhymes
- Audience appeal
- Also considered are a writer's fresh approach
to a simple subject and works that exhibit the author's
involvement in the subject matter. |

process |
- Fifth grade students submit a poem to their
teacher
- The fifth grade teachers in your school will
select three of the poems for publication and forward
them to the Anthology of Poetry, Inc.
- Your poems will be published with selections
from other schools throughout the U.S. |

Grade Poetry their writers are published in, for
the school library.
For your school to receive this complimentary hardcover
edition, this form must
