The start of forever
I could smell it happening
Like a warm apple pie,
Just baked in the winter.
I could see your happiness join mine.
I could touch this soft and snuggly moment.
I knew that it would last forever,
And so far it has.
To me, this day sounded like soft music playing
in the distance,
That I could not stop thinking about.
I could taste the words coming out of my mouth,
They were sweet, warm, and kind.
You could see my face turning red, as I smiled.
I pinched myself and it was true.
And now our friendship is stronger.
I will remember this day longer and longer.
It is the first day that you met me and we became friends.
And this is one day that I will never regret, or forget.
